Hi all,

I'm trying to get CIFS to work with Alfresco Community Edition 201602 GA Release (binary installation) on a VirtualBox Machine with Linux Mint 17.3 KDE. This machine is like the rest of my machines in my LAN behind a router in domain "lan" and I want to access Alfresco from them.
But I see no Alfresco CIFS Share and I cannot connect to it with smbclient. I can see other Samba shares from other devices within my LAN without a problem. Alfresco FTP share works although only for admin.

Now in catalina.out I see multiple errors like this:

I'm trying to get FTP to work with Alfresco Community Edition 201602 GA Release (binary installation) on a VirtualBox Machine with Linux Mint 17.3 KDE.

I can access access Alfresco with Filezilla from a client but only for the admin. When I try to access Alfresco with another account I get following error in Filezilla:

Response: 530 Access denied Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

In alfresco-global.properties I have:

ftp.port=2021
ftp.bindto=10.19.75.21

How can I give access to Alfresco over FTP for users apart from the admin?

I am new to Alfresco and PostgreSQL so asking a very basic question.

We are using a PostgreSQL DB instance which came bundled with Alfresco Community edition 5.0a. It was working fine for almost 3 months but since the last few days we started seeing an issue where the DB just hangs up and processes no request from the application. If we restart the Alfresco server everything works normally.

In order to try and debug this issue, I have increased the logging level in postgresql.config file, but I am not able to find the location where the logs are located. I have even tried to supply an absolute path for the log files in the same config file but still the logs are not written to that location.

Can someone please help me figure out this issue?

I have reviewed a variety of posts regarding configuring Outbound mail to use Office 365. One implied it can't be done, and another a user was able to get it working, however I have tried the settings and am getting an error.

My settings alfresco-global.properties:

mail.protocol=smtps
mail.from.default=test@mydomain.com
mail.username=test@mydomain.com
mail.password=mypassword
mail.encoding=UTF-8
mail.smtps.starttls.enable=true
mail.smtps.auth=true

I can telnet to smtp.office365.com 587 successfully, so I know the port is not blocked.

The error in the alfresco log is:

I'm trying to enable inbound email for site discussion forums.

Looking at this doc - http://docs.alfresco.com/5.1/concepts/email-target-node.html - it seems like it should be possible.

I can send mail to the server i.e. by enabling the aspect emailserver:aliasable on a folder and setting the emailserver:alias property so that part is working.

I've tried sending mail to post-xxxxx and the uuid of the fm:topic but the mail gets bounced.

I can't seem to add the aliasable aspect to the post using a javascript action.

The other thing I tried was to have all replies go to a processing folder but then the addNode method fails on the fm:topic node so that doesn't work either.

Any ideas?

Hello gents,

I'm working on an implementation of Alfresco for my business. I've been digging around, but I can't seem to find how to do this. I would like to remove the ability to allow users to invite groups to a site and only allow individual users be invited one at a time.

I've told our teams that we are to only be using individuals to invite folks to a site, however seeing that "Groups" button on the invitation page has enticed a few people to begin complaining rather loudly for the ability to add folks to one.

How can I remove the ability to invite groups to a site or simply hide the option to do so?

I want to mount my Alfresco CIFS Share locally and create backups of that share.
I am able to access the CIFS Share from other machines in my subnet but not within
the server itself.
When I try to mount the share manually I get an error:

alfresco-community # mount -t cifs -o username=admin,password=xxxxxxxxx //127.0.1.1/Alfresco/ /media/Alfresco Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

But it must be possible like I have seen here:

I have no idea what does that error mean. Is it because of the firewall or because of my

Suddenly my /opt/alfresco-5.0.d/alfresco.log and logs in /opt/alfresco-5.0.d/tomcat/logs are missing, there is only catalina.out log. I didn't change any configuration, I tried to restart alfresco and I don't really know what else to try. Does anyone has any suggestions how to get logging back?
