DWG/AutoCAD Transformations (CE 5.0.d)

Hi everyone,

New Alfresco user here. I've installed Community 5.0.d on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit for an evaluation/trial but have got hung up on implementing DWG/AutoCAD transformations for web previews, which would be immensely useful in our organisation.

I've read this wiki article: https://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/DWG_Transformations - as well as a lot of forum posts that ultimately link to that wiki article - but I haven't been able to source a copy of this 'cad2svg' binary - the developer is no longer licensed to distribute it freely, and I'm reluctant to pay USD$250 to try it out (it looks like it doesn't work for newer .dwg formats anyway).

I have also hunted high and low for a 3rd party plugin or other solution. I found this in the Alfresco add-on library: https://addons.alfresco.com/addons/edm-module-alfresco, which is exactly what I'm looking for, but unfortunately the plugin is not available for CE, only for the commercial licenses - which might be an option later, but I'm still evaluating Alfresco.

There seem to be a lot of applications that run on Linux (QCAD, for example) that could handle the transformation, but I'm not a developer so I can't put something together myself. I've emailed as many freelancers as I could find on the forum too.
We are prepared to pay a reasonable price for this, I just can't find it anywhere.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, offer a solution, or tell me who I can pay to get this functionality, I would be really grateful.
